So I’m dealing with a total pain in the ass with the object detection sensor on my e-tron. The bracket broke and now the dealer is trying to charge me a whopping $1700 to fix it. Seriously, it feels like a design screw-up - the sensor’s way too low and keeps getting smacked by debris. Anyone else had this crap happen or know a trick to fix it without forking over that much dough? It’s driving me nuts!

So this is a trouble with a broken bracket. I'd definitely try to get a photo of the location and part number to make it easier for anyone to help. As for the charge, it's hard to say without knowing the specifics. Is it mostly labor, or are they hitting you with a hefty fee for the part itself?
