I’ve had a new 2024 q4 etron for about six months. I’ve recently started getting this message every time I drive the car: Electrical system currently limited, drive with greater care. After this message, it sometimes triggers various safety systems to start shutting down - exit warning unavailable , rear traffic assist unavailable, parking aide unavailable, traffic signs unavailable. Other times, there are only various yellow warning symbols on the dash. My app also notes that I have safety system failures and to contact a dealer. Car has been at the dealer for a month and I was told they replaced a component. Picked up the car this week - sat down in car and got the same electrical error message immediately before I left the lot. Service took the car back, ran diagnostics and gave it back to me stating everything was fine. Drove it over the weekend, errors continued, I asked them to come pickup the car as it is unsafe to drive. They’ve had it another week and are unsure of what to do. Anyone else had this? To add to the story, the loaner that they gave me has a MMI that won’t turn on and says please activate the drive system. Happy I only leased with Audi - and did not buy a new car.

From what you’re describing, it almost sounds like a battery management system fault. I’ve read that some early Q4 models had issues with faulty connectors causing electrical errors and safety systems to fail. If they’ve replaced a component and the issue persists, it could be worth asking if they’ve checked the BMS or related wiring. Try to keep a detailed log of when the errors appear, time, weather, driving conditions, as that might help narrow things down. You can use them as evidence when the service asks what happened.

I think you may be correct. I just received a text this morning from service saying that they now think the 12V battery is the problem. They are going to replace that and continue to do test drives to see if anything else is needed. I have not heard back yet to see if that worked. They did also state that they are seeing this issue now and believe it is because the cars are sitting on the lots before they are sold which causes this small battery to drain.
