The MMI screen on my Audi Q4 blackedout all of a sudden . I tried the reset thing by holding the volume button for twenty seconds, but sadly it did not help. I looked over the manual and couldn't locate a particular fuse for the MMI system, so I'm not sure if I missed anything or if this problem could be more complicated.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on possible causes of the issue or solutions? Would like to stay away from a dealer at least! I appreciate any ideas in advance.

Why not unplug the car's battery for a few minutes? It's like giving your ride a quick reboot! Just be careful with the battery, though. Keep in mind, this will reset a bunch of stuff like the clock and radio presets, so you’ll have to set those up again afterward.

You gotta give those fuses a good look! Even if the manual doesn’t point out a specific MMI fuse, make sure to check the ones tied to the infotainment system and power supply. Sometimes the manual can be a bit vague, you know?

I keep hitting this snag with my e-Tron GT, and I’m pretty sure it’s my iphone trying to jump into CarPlay and connect with the MMI system. It’s like they can’t get their stuff together at all!

There was a time when this happened frequently for me. Took it in at the same time as the recall, and they totally dedicated the whole day to figuring out what was going on. They ended up reloading the software from scratch, which did the trick for a few months. Now, though, it’s more of a rare hiccup.

Did they say if it’s a known issue with the e-tron or what?

Unplugging the battery sounds like a good next step, even if it means resetting a few things like the clock and presets. I’ll give it a try and see if it helps with the MMI issue. Appreciate the advice!

Try checking the battery terminals if they're clean and securely connected. A loose connection could disrupt power supply to the MMI system.
