quick favor to ask! I recently had a DashCam professionally installed in my Q4 using a hardwire kit. The issue is, once I turn off the car, the power to the cameras shuts off too, which kind of defeats the purpose of the "always on" parking monitoring.

Has anyone here installed a DashCam in their Q4 and managed to keep it powered on while the car’s parked? Specifically, I’m wondering which fuse # you tapped into to make sure the DashCam stays on when the car’s off. Any insights would be a huge help!

Hey, I had the same issues with my dashcam setup, so I got you. The hardwire kit might be tapped into a fuse. That one is powered only when the car is on. This is the reason it shuts off when you turn off the ignition. Now, if you want to keep your dashcam on your parking mode, you will need to tap into a fuse with constant power (one that stays on even when the car is off). I don't have the exact fuse number for the Q4, but people use fuses related to things like the power seats, alarm system, or interior lights (they tend to have constant power).

So, check your car's fuse box diagram to locate one of those fuses, or ask your installer to switch the connection to a constant power fuse. I hope it helps. H

My DashCam used to shut off anytime I turned off the car, and I mean, what is the point of it if it cant monitor while parked, I read a few things online and ended up tapping into the fuse for the battery, which allowed the DashCam to stay on even when the car was off.

I found that tapping into the fuse for the power seats worked perfectly for keeping the DashCam on when the car was off. It provides constant power, which means your camera can still monitor while parked. If you have access to the fuse box diagram, look for fuses related to the interior lights or any constant power circuits. Just make sure to check the amperage to avoid any issues. Good luck!
