My partner and I are about to get a Q4 e-tron and I'm wondering where the spare wheel is located. I really hope they're not using run-flat tires. A space-saver wheel is much more convenient in case of a flat. Anyone know the location?

There’s no spare tire or run-flat tire - just an air pump and a can of sealant. I get that it’s not ideal, but that’s the deal we’re stuck with! I know it’s disappointing!

Sure, if you’ve got a nail in your tire, you’re good to go, but a blowout? Yikes, you’re in trouble! With all that space in an electric car, it feels a bit stingy not to include a spare. Like, come on! If they had to ditch the frunk to make room for a spare, I’d totally understand, but no frunk AND no spare? That’s just downright goofy. Seriously, what a bummer!

Are blowouts still a thing these days? From what I've noticed, they seem pretty rare on modern tires that are otherwise safe, unless, of course, something major causes it, which makes total sense. They might still happen, but I haven't heard any crazy stories about them lately!

Not a total blowout, but a lot of Run Flat tires do end up with sidewall damage from stuff that regular tires handle easily. Luckily, Audi hasn’t gone down that road, so they’re still keeping their ride quality on point!

Ohh I see! Do you think the whole Run Flat tire trend is shifting how people see tire safety? It feels like there’s this trade-off between convenience and comfort, yeah?
