I want to buy a winter wheel/tire set, but I can't find any at TireRack and Audi's own parts shop.
I know that the Q4 tires come from OEM with staggered 19" and 20", but I would rather go with a square setup.
So, do you think 18" tires/wheels (235/60R18) would fit on the Q4 without issues?
I wonder if the Q4's braking system (rotors) would cause fit issues because the car is similar to the ID.4, which is fitted with 18" wheels in some areas.
Any thoughts, please?

Hey! It sounds like a square setup would be ideal for winter driving. According to what I've read, going down to 18" wheels may work if the overall diameter is compatible and there is enough space for the brakes. Given the similarities between the Q4 and ID.4, it may be worthwhile to investigate whether they have similar brake setups. It may also be beneficial to consult with a local tire shop or dealership to ensure a proper fit. Anyone else had experience fitting different wheel sizes to the Q4?

Hey! I agree with @nanami2006. Going with an 18" square setup can be a solid choice for winter driving, especially since narrower tires can help with better traction in snow.
And it is true that the Q4 has some similarities with the ID.4, but Audi's braking system might still differ slightly. Just double-check the brake caliper clearance before going on. Ask someone you trust about the fitment.

Yeah, totally agree with what's been said, but one thing I would keep an eye on is the load rating and sidewall height if you are going down to 18" wheels. Winter tires with taller sidewalls can be awesome for extra comfort and handling those rough winter roads, but you still wanna make sure they can handle the weight of the Q4.

Also, might be worth asking Audi if they have actually tested 18" wheels for winter setups. Could save you some headaches down the road. Just sayin.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I decided to go with the 18" square setup. I know it is not snowing yet (I hope it is not too early), but I can't wait to see how it performs when the time comes. Everything fits perfectly. No issues with the brake caliper clearance. Thanks again!

It is not that early, haha! Come with an update after the first snow if you want.
