I’m really in a bind with the heat pump on my 2023 Q4. It’s totally not working, and the dealership’s been throwing darts at it but can’t nail it down. They’re missing some refrigerant or gear or whatever, and they've been waiting for almost 2 freaking years! I’m losing my mind over here, especially with winter creeping up. Anyone else had this nightmare, or know of any sneaky workarounds? I’m even thinking about going the lemon law route!

Honestly, heat pumps just aren’t doing the job in a lot of EVs, maybe even all of them! And the ones that don’t have 'em? Way better AC, no contest. If I had to choose right now, I’d totally snag an EV that skips the heat pump. It’s just not worth the hassle!

Update. I got the Q4 back from a relatively local Audi dealer, and the heat pump works after they replaced the compressor. I helped them find R-744 refrigerant from Linde (part number CD 3.0RG-QS) after they planned to wait indefinitely for Audi to ship it. Audi advised local sourcing almost a year ago, so it’s frustrating they weren’t more proactive. Finding that part number in their memo really saved the day!

Wow, congrats! Glad to hear they finally got it sorted out. But seriously, how frustrating that they didn’t act on that info sooner. It’s wild that you had to dig that up yourself. Anyway, it’s such a relief to hear it’s all sorted now!
