I saw an e-Tron GT and was very impressed with it. I knew it was comparable to the Taycan. I was surprised to learn that it is less expensive to lease than other cars. However, there are few of them in my area.

I test drove it and was very pleased. It was powerful, smooth, and handled well. The inside is very nice. I disliked how big it is and how little it slows down when you let go of the brake. The prices appear to be reasonable, so now appears to be a good time to act.

I think you might be referring to the "break-in period" the GT has for the first few hundred miles. During this time, the regen braking is limited to allow the brake pads to settle in properly. Once the break-in period is over, the GT uses regen braking almost exclusively for slowing down. The steering wheel paddles just adjust how much regen is applied to the brake and accelerator pedals. It's a pretty cool system that gives you a lot of control over the braking.
