Hi, guys!
I have a very long story, so if you don't have too much time to spare, here is a short version, haha!
TL; DR version
New member here on the forum. I have owned several Audi until now (it seems I am not new to Audi's, haha!
At the end of the month, I have noticed my dealer was starting to get in some new models. I decided to go in and test-drive one of their demo cars. It looked like a solid entry into the EV world. so I made a deal to trade in my older A6 Sportback for the latest Prestige model. I picked it up on a Saturday.
The first few days were smooth, and I was just getting used to the EV experience. Then, within the first week, I got a warning message: Air Conditioner Malfunction - Please contact Service. At that point, I had only driven about 100 miles. I called the dealership right away, and they asked me to bring it in a few days later.
The next day, they told me they needed to consult with Audi Tech Support for approval before they could proceed with any work since it was an early-release model. After getting the go-ahead, they discovered it was low on refrigerant (Co2) and had to evacuate and recharge the system. That is when they found a leak in the line from the compressor to a shutoff valve. They told me the part was available out of state and would arrive in a few days. But a week later, I was informed the part was actually on backorder.
After talking to my sales guy and the service rep, they explained that the part originally came with the vehicle, but Audi realized it was faulty and had redesigned it. The new version of the part is now on backorder with no estimated delivery date.
So here I am, with a brand new car that has just under 200 miles on it, sitting at the dealership indefinitely while I wait for the part. I have opened a case with Audi Customer Care to see if they can help with either the part or my upcoming first payment.
Has anyone here had experience dealing with Audi on pausing payments or getting some kind of payment relief? I don't think I should have to make payments on a car I have only had for about a week and a half before it went back to the shop. But I also realize I signed a financing contract, so I am not sure how much leverage I have.
I couldn't find any ingo on this specific issue when searching online, so I wanted to share my experience in case anyone is thinking about getting one of these early-release EVs. To be honest, I am not fully convinced Audi actually designed a new part, especially since this model has been available in the USA for a while. I hope I am wrong, but my sales guy mentioned I was not the only one with that issue. It is frustrating to deal with, especially with a brand-new car, and I expected more from Audi given my previous experiences.

- Bought a new Audi EV in late October, trading in my old A6 Sportback.
- After driving less than 200 miles, received an "Air Conditioner Malfunction" warning.
- Dealership found a refrigerant leak but the replacement part is on backorder with no estimated delivery date.
- The car is now stuck at the dealership indefinitely while waiting for the part.
- Opened a case with Audi Customer Care to see if they can assist with the part or my first payment.
- Frustrated with the situation—has anyone experienced pausing payments with Audi due to something like this?
