Q4 NA Hitch Size: 1 1/4" or 2"?

Hi!

I am asking for a friend!
Does someone know if the official Audi Hitch Size for North America is 1 1/4" or 2"?
I couldn't find any additional info on Audi's website. This is the part number: 89A092115.

I read something about it online (I can't remember where), and as I remember the OEM hitch is 1 1/4".
Somehow it is weird. I don't know why a 2300 lb car would have a 1 1/4" hitch.

As far as I know, the 1 1/4" hitch is standard for a lot of models, especially if it is an OEM part like the one you are referencing. It is a bit odd considering the towing capacity, but you can always get an adapter if needed for a 2" hitch.

Thanks for the info, guys! Sounds like the consensus is that the EOM hitch is indeed 1 1/4"/ It is a bit surprising considering the towing capacity, but I guess Audi has its reasons. Have any of you had experience towing with this hitch size? I am curious how it holds up with heavier loads and if there are any tips or tricks for using it effectively.
