I didn't get to ask this last winter but trying my luck here. My Audi e-tron's summer range is doing awesome, but last winter's got me down to 100 miles on an 80% charge, even with pre-heating. Is this normal?

Any tips to save range in the future cold besides driving like a grandma? Also, will even colder weather kill my range completely?

That's understandable, when the temps go down, the range also goes down. It's also important to avoid leaving your battery in a high or low state of charge for long periods of time, as this can stress it. For daily use, aim for 20% to 80%.

Cold weather significantly reduces electric vehicle range. I'm not sure if the Audi preheats both the interior and battery, but a lot of energy is spent keeping the battery warm for optimal performance.

My e208 used 8% of its battery just to heat the battery during a short 6-mile trip. It seems like you're doing everything right, but don't hesitate to charge to 100% if you need the extra range.
The main thing is to avoid leaving the battery at a very high or low state of charge for extended periods, as this can damage it.

So, charge to 100% and preheat, then leave immediately. Charging to 100% occasionally, especially at home with a slow charger, won't harm the battery. It's only when it's left at a high charge for days on end that it can cause issues.

I totally agree. No worries about charging your car to 100% - just make sure you actually use it afterward! The real issue happens when you let it chill at full charge for too long. So go on, pump it up to the max and enjoy! Sure, topping it off can cause a bit of wear and tear, but as long as you're using it, the effects are pretty minor.

Additionally, driving fast really eats up your range because it takes a ton of energy to cut through the air. Sleeker rides like the Model 3 are way more aerodynamic than chunkier ones like the e-tron. If you’re cruising over 75-80 mph, don’t be shocked if your range drops. . Slow down to around 60 mph, and you'll see a nice boost!
