Hello, drivers!

Follow these steps if you want to connect a Mirror trap.

1. First, I removed the large plastic piece directly above the mirror using a plastic tool - the piece slid towards the windshield
2. I removed the smaller plastic piece by squeezing the area and pulling it towards me slightly down (the B on the picture) - I had to use some force on this one
3. Then I saw two wiring harnesses - I pulled the bottom one towards me and slit it out of the clip - now I can see three wires
4. I plugged the black wire tip from the Mirror Tap to the brown/white wire
5. Then the red wire tip from the Mirror Tap to the blue/gray wire.
5. I used a Dremel tool to create a notch in the plastic piece for the wire to exit where it contacts the shaft to the back of the mirror.
6. I push the harness back into the clip
7. I replaced the small plastic piece over the mirror shaft taking care not to pitch the wire,
8. Lastly, I replaced the large plastic piece.

Oh, wow! Highly appreciated, especially for taking the time to put it so clean on the forum. Is this the first time when you have connected a Mirror trap?
What was the most challenging part of the process?

How did you do the wiretapping part?

How did you do the wiretapping part?
I used a MirrorTap kit (that comes with small taps). The best about it is that the small taps are designed to fit into wiring. So, you don't need to cut or splice anything. It is only about pushing the red and black wire tips into the corresponding wires after exposing them. I made sure they were snug, but not too tight. Let me know if you got it.

Yeah, it was the first time. The most challenging part was probably removing the smaller plastic piece above the mirror. I mean, it wasn't challenging. I would say it was less easier. 😅
