Transponder issues with heated windshield on Audi Q4 e-tron

Do you guys have this issue because of the heated windshield? My toll transponder isn't working when I place it in the usual spot on My Audi Q4. I tried Audi support, and they said there is not a specific spot for the transponder to be placed. This is an issue I read on other forums. Some EVs with heated windshields (which contain metal elements) may block signals but have a “window” where the metal is absent. On the Q4, there is a rectangular area with a different dot pattern (“frit”) near the rear-view mirror on the passenger side that could be this window.

Has anyone successfully placed their transponder there, or can confirm the best spot on the Q4’s heated windshield? Any insights would be appreciated!

Yes, some heated windshields can block the signal for toll transponders. You might want to try placing your transponder in that rectangular area near the rear-view mirror. Many users have found success there, so it could work for you too..

Just hold the transponder out the window as you drive through the tolls.
