Hey everyone, it is been a while I posted here, I have a quick question, on my Q4 e-tron and my wife's we both have our own settings. Ideally, the car should recognize which one of us is driving based on the key fob used to unlock it. But that’s not happening, we still have to manually select a user if we weren’t the last one to drive.

I was ready to give up until I found something in the driver’s manual (page 31, under “users”) that seems to suggest the key fob can be linked to user settings. It’s not clear how to make it work though. Can anyone explain?

I think the fob is not fully linked to your user profile. Go into the settings menu, and under USERS there should be an option to assign a specific key fob to each profile. I hope it helps!

I actually had the same issue and found that just linking the fob in the settings didn’t fully fix the problem for me either. What worked was resetting the user profiles and then reassigning each fob after a fresh start. You can do this by going into USERS, deleting the profiles, and setting them up again from scratch, then assign the fobs. It seems like a bit of a hassle, but it resolved the issue for me.

Ok, good to know. I guess you have a better solution, @PereZ!

Thanks for the tip! I tried resetting the user profiles and reassigning the fobs from scratch, and it worked perfectly. It was a lot, but at least now the car recognizes which one of us is driving based on the key fob. Appreciate the help
