Hi everyone,

My wife drove to get groceries and on returning to where she parked there was a notification that said "Please activate the drive system, otherwise the system will turn off shortly." She wasn't able to clear it, and I haven't been able to, but we can still drive the car.

I ran into the same thing, and believe it or not, the fix was super easy: just give it a quick reboot! All you gotta do is press and hold that middle volume button for about ten seconds and you'll be good to go!

I had the same thing happen with my e-tron a few months ago. Out of the blue, this warning popped up. I just gave it a quick reboot, and it’s been smooth sailing ever since! No more issues, thank goodness!

If I may ask, anyone know why that warning just popped up out of nowhere? Seems a bit weird, right?
I think it might just be a false alarm or a minor glitch, especially since it went away after I rebooted. Still, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on it. If the issue comes back, it might be worth having a pro check it out to make sure there aren't any underlying problems.

it happens to me twice, I'm strongly beleive, it happens when you park, take your seatbelt off, but still siting on the car for a period of time (most of the time on the Phone or else) after, you going out and everything is ok, when you come back there is the message.
I follow the instructions and is working.

Can I ask how you reboot please? This message appeared for me last night and again this morning. I tried holding down the volume on/off button for 10 seconds but it hasn’t worked. I’ve also read somewhere to press the D button in centre console but I can’t see a D button. Thank you
