Why does my audio stay on when driver's door is opened?

You would expect that the Audi MMI/radio/audio should turn off when one parks and opens the driver's door, but it not he case for mine. It stays on even when the driver's door is open, Any idea how I can set the MMI to turn off the radio itself, especially when the car is parked and the driver's door is opened?

Sounds like a coding settings problem. Have you heard about VCDS? Use it! You can access the vehicle's control modules and check the settings for the radio timeout function. You might want to adjust the settings to enable the feature that turns off the MMi system when you open the door. If it sounds complicated, find a professional service for that...

You might wanna think about other stuff too, like the switch in the driver's door lock. If that’s the culprit, you’ll probably have to replace the whole lock assembly since the switch isn’t a separate piece. Some folks have had luck just spraying it with some lube to give it a boost. Just watch out, water is the enemy here!

The audio won't shut off until you hop out of the car. It's just one of those quirks that comes with not having to hit the start button.

Yeah, it’s all tied to the seat pressure thingy, just gotta lift my butt and it shuts off. 😂

Honestly, it’s a bummer they messed with something that was already perfect! Now I’ve gotta remember to mute it every time I open the door.

Here’s hoping for a software update that brings back the good stuff! Fingers crossed!

Thanks...I’ve heard of VCDS but haven’t used it before. I’ll look into it and see if I can adjust the settings myself. If it gets too tricky, I’ll reach out to a pro..

Good point! I didn’t think about the door lock switch. I’ll give it a try with some lube first and see if that helps before considering a full replacement.

I see what you're saying, but I still think it would be better if the audio turned off when the door opens. It just seems more intuitive, especially when you're parking and getting out. I hope there’s a way to adjust it.

That’s hilarious! :ROFLMAO: I guess we’re all adjusting to these quirks. It is a bummer when they change features that worked well. I’m definitely with you on hoping for a software update to bring back the good stuff!
