Customizing the cockpit

I'm curious about customizing my virtual cockpit. Is it possible to replace the built-in Audi navigation system with Android Auto?

Unfortunately no. The AA and CarPlay are kinda clunky in this ride, especially compared to other EVs like the ID.4. Seriously, it’s a letdown that the driver display and the optional HUD don’t show any phone nav cues at all. That’s a pretty big miss, honestly!

I think this is the single situation when I use my phone's display...that's life...

You can't just swap out the Audi navigation system for Android Auto. But, there's a workaround! You can get a special device that lets you use your phone's Google Maps through the car's screen.

Basically, you'd install this device yourself, and it connects your phone to the car's infotainment system. How hard it is to install depends on my car model and how handy I am.

This way, I can use Google Maps on the screen instead of the Audi navigation, which I might not like as much.
