Feeling a bit frustrated here. Just got slapped with a $1200 bill for a brake fluid change! Never had it done on my old cars (looking at you, 2014 Armada!) and they seemed fine. Is this a new thing for Audi or just a dealer upsell? Also, anyone else get hit with sneaky pre-checked forms for inspections? Always ask for a quote before they start tinkering!

i dont think its right to charge you $1200 just for a brake fluid change. Based on my experience with brake fluid change, it only costs of no more than $500 and being charged for more than $500 is too much already. Do you have AudiCare when you bought the vehicle? With AudiCare you have a maintenance schedule of every 2 years, brake fluid change is free. Sorry man but they ripped you off...

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the dealer. But no, that is way too steep price for a brake fluid replacement. A total rip-off!! and I would be very upset too. I just looked at my service records and this issue should be covered by Audi Care package. Makes me realize it is certainly worth buying it.

And this is why I opted for the Audi Care package. :)

Shops always recommend brake flushes because, let's be real, nobody ever changes their brake fluid! You could walk through any parking lot and probably find cars with the same brake fluid they had when they rolled off the assembly line. It's not a scam, it's just that mechanics are used to people totally ignoring basic car maintenance, like not even replacing brake pads until they're grinding metal on metal.
