"S Q8" Badge on my e-tron Q8 sportback launch edition

I finally took delivery of my 2024 e-Tron Q8 Sportback Launch Edition last night and I noticed something odd. The rear badge says "S Q8" instead of just "e-tron Q8 Sportback." My son in and even the dealer here both said that Audi is now using this badge to differentiate the sportier builds.

Honestly, I think it's a bit ridiculous. "S Q8" should be reserved for the actual SQ8 model. It makes me feel like some kind of "Cool Kid," I guess, but I find it a bit of a goofy move by Audi.

Maybe I should try to see if this "S Q8" badge actually translates to any extra performance in boost mode.

Other than that, I'm absolutely loving the car. It's a definite refinement over my old Sportback.

Has anyone else received their Launch Edition and noticed this "S Q8" badge?

The “S Q8” badge is an interesting touch, though I can see why it might feel a bit odd if it’s not an actual SQ8. If it really bothers you, you could probably swap it out for a standard “e-tron” badge, dealerships might even be able to help with that. On the flip side, it’s kind of cool to have a unique identifier for the Launch Edition.
