I was driving in my E-tron when suddenly it's Zero percent battery! My fault I wasn't paying attention to it. I managed to limp along for about 5km before finding a charger. I'm still shaking! Anyone else experienced this? How far can you really go on zero? And more importantly, did it damage my battery?

This happened to us once during a rural trip. The gauge read zero, but the car kept going and never stopped until we found a station. Even though the gauge says empty, it appears that there's a lot of reserve in the battery range.

We drove past zero on a road trip and couldn’t find a charger. Surprisingly, the car never shut off, and we eventually stumbled upon a slow charger. It seems like there's some hidden reserve range when you go beyond zero. Not sure how much though and not willing to do it again, haha

Even when your battery display shows zero, you actually still have about 8% left. The car will let you move a little bit, just so you can get off the road safely.

And more importantly, did it damage my battery?
As for the battery, it shouldn’t be damaged unless you’re constantly running it to empty, but it’s definitely best to avoid it when you can. Just keep an eye on that gauge, and maybe plan your charging stops ahead next time!
