Hi, guys!

Because of some circumstances, I have to use a level 1 110V charger for the first time. Here is the problem. I have been using the 50% selection on my Audi-supplied lvl1 charger, as I am not sure that my rental home's electrical system can safely handle a full 100% charge.
I want to install a level 2 charger, but I wouldn't do it for a rented property. My Audi Q5 plug-in is full in 3 hours with a level 2 charger.
I am looking forward to the 2025 Q4's release, hoping for better performance and increased electric range. I also hope that Level 2 charging becomes more accessible in my area by then, since the charging stations network is poor around here.

I’ve only had my 2024 Q5 hybrid for 5 days, and the MIL light is already on after charging it on 110 at 100%. Now I can only charge it to 50% unless I find a public charger. The dealer says a software update could take a month or more. So I’m stuck switching between gas and electric for now. Hoping this doesn’t drag on forever!

Yeah, hopefully, be the time the 2025 Q4 drops, we'll see better charging performance and more stations popping up nearby...

Just stick to LVL1 until better charging options are available. It is safest if you are concerned about the wiring. Hopefully, the charging infrastructure in your area will catch up, too.

Yeah, Level 1 charging can be a real pain, especially if you're used to Level 2 speeds. Good call on being careful with the rental's wiring better safe than sorry, right? Sticking with 50% on the 110V charger is probably the way to go. Makes total sense that you wouldn't want to shell out for a Level 2 charger when you're renting. Three hours to full on Level 2 sounds awesome bet you're missing that! That 2025 Q4 sounds promising, though! Fingers crossed they actually improve the performance and range. And hopefully, they get more charging stations built by then. It's a bummer when you can't find anywhere to charge.
